A team of researchers led by Abby Lawson (a PhD candidate at Clemson)
conducted a field study of the American Alligator at Yawkey Island near
Georgetown South Carolina in early April.

alligators were treated humanely according to an ethical scientific
protocol that takes into consideration the welfare of the animals.
